“Youth wind of change “ in Poggiardo , Italy

I was the team leader of the Armenian group, and we were 6 in our group. I didn’t believe in the power of being a leader of the group when I participated in the “Youth wind of change “Erasmus + project.

After my own experience, I now believe that exchange students can help change some of the assumptions and preconceived ideas in their societies because people are more likely to accept the change from within their society rather than from the outside. That is why I strongly believe that an exchange experience is one of the most powerful ways to promote human beings and help end those centuries’ long conflicts that take our focus away from the real problems.

In my teens, I always dreamed of being a traveler, to be open to explore other cultures more deeply. “Youth wind of change “helped me realize this dream – the experience has marked my life forever, encouraging personal and spiritual growth. Now, I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation with youngsters who are considering the amazing journey of intercultural exchange."

Sometimes it's hard to imagine representatives of 6 counties in one place living, discussing, eating, talking, etc. and all the time having fun! But it happened in Italy on September with our team. We had a great time being surrounded with friendly and warm atmosphere. We were together but at the same time we become friends with others, maybe life-long friends.

Through “Youth wind of Change” program I develop myself, thus contributing to society from an earlier age. Most people don’t think about self-development until they experience a life-changing event — something that shakes them up and changes their perspective. Thank you very much for this great opportunity.

I learned a lot from the discussions about immigration. We all shared our own experience and it makes me to understand what is immigration. So, for me the definition of immigration has developed to include a profound understanding of migration. Immigration is what carves the picture of the modern world.

Mary Manukyan

Through doing various cultural activities with the international young people I learned to appreciate the importance of the creative expression of emotions, ideas, and experiences. I learned to interact and cooperate with people who have different cultural and social backgrounds. Using socialization as a way of learning method, I shared information about my country, culture and language. I kindly advise you to participate in such kind of projects, because it helps you to become more mature and to learn something new from the others.

All in all, participating in an exchange program is a perfect opportunity for students to visit foreign countries, learn more about other cultures, and learn a foreign language .Thus, if you have a chance to participate in such program, do not miss it.
